The Vera Saga (Private. Invite Only)

Alex woke face down in the dirt.

How long have I been out for? He asked, climbing to his feet. Looking down at his clothing, something had happened to him. He had been in a fight or training really hard. His clothes hung in tatters. First things first. Gotta grab some new garb Alex thought, rocketing away from the meadow he woke up in.

About thirty minutes later, Alex landed atop The Lookout Tower. he was Kurokon was there. he saw Mr. Popo.

"Hey Mr. Popo!" Alex called out.
"Mr. Ruler, how are you today?" Mr. Popo asked, in his polite manner.
"Mr. Popo have you seen Kurokon or any of my friends lately?" Alex asked.
"Now that you mention it. I have not," Mr. Popo said before looking closer at Alex's clothing. "What happened to you?"
"I'm not even sure. Think I could get some new clothes?" Alex asked rubbing the back of his head.

Mr. Popo nodded before extending his hands. Alex's battered limegreen gi disappeared before being replaced with a bright new one. Alex bowed to Mr. Popo and explained that he had to find Kurokon. Mr. Popo understood as Alex blasted off. I couldn't tell Popo about this Changeling I encountered. I bet that's what happened. The fight with Vera or whatever her name was. Alex thought as he flew towards the school Kurokon, Aidan, and Kenji usually attended. Suddenly, Alex felt Vera's power level nearby.

"Now I've got you changeling." Alex said aloud to no one before blasting off in the direction of the power level.

When Alex landed, he found an old couple living in the middle of a forest. He approached on foot so as not to startle them.

'Excuse me, sir. I'm Alex Ruler, and I was wondering if you could tell me where I might be able to find your daughter," Alex asked, politely.

Vera was half asleep in bath tub her entire body submerged except for the tip of her tail and her head from the nose up. She had just gotten rather rough with a man named Alex Ruler but that wasn't the only name she had learned. He had also thrown out so many other names that Vera's head hurt as much as her body now. She felt bad for running from a fight but she didn't want to die especially so young. It was to much for her mind to bear at the moment. She just closed her eyes and allowed herself to relax.

Only a short while before she had nearly fought to the death. Now that she thought about it she realized she didn't even know if the man was okay. She hoped he was but there was no real way to tell. She had gotten home and instantly dropped her clothes in the hall ways and gone straight for the bath.

Upon arrival home her father had only asked one question. "You okay?" Vera had only to give a single look and go straight to the bath and they knew from past experience that she had lost a fight. They didn't ask questions but moved outside to the vegetable garden and check on how it was growing allowing Vera to move about the house peacefully.

While muddling around the garden a man approached the elderly couple. "Excuse me, sir. I'm Alex Ruler, and I was wondering if you could tell me where I might be able to find your daughter,"

The couple blinked before smiling together. The woman spoke first. "OH! Look Marcus, a boy! Vera's never brought home one of those before." The old man just smiled. "Well then let him be Margret. She inside young man but you might wanna announce your presence before going through any door ways. She looked a little upset earlier." Both of the elderly couple were in there 60's with snow white hair and sported coke bottle glasses. The larger old woman was in a plain blue dress with yellow apron with some pink flowers across it and the old man in a 2 blue plad shirt, brown pants and a white lab coat. They stared at the man with big smiles awaiting for him to enter the small 1 floor house with a small bio dome in the rear The house seemed to be built into the trees as if it was trying to blend in but it was the simple fact that the house was build around the trees. the front of the house was green as the grass around it with a black roof and bright red front door.

As soon as one entered the front door they would be in a long hall way. A door directly to the right was a closet but the one about 3 feet in on the left went into a small kitchen that had the left wall lined with cabinets, a stove and fridge and some more cabinets against the far wall and a small table on the right with 3 chairs. As one continued down the hall there was only a small number of rooms. 2 more on the left and 2 more on the right. The next one on the left was the elderly couples bedroom. Very old and bland pink and yellows and flowers covered everything. The last door on the left was another hallway with a set of stairs. The hall led into the bio dome and the stairs down into the basement where the lab was. The bio dome was actually an envirosphere so atmospheric temperatures could be changed in side but not much else. Was great for snow in mid august though.

The first door on the right after the closet was Vera's room. It took up half of the house extending behind the bathroom and closet. Most of the room was painted with purple blue and black tie die and everything in it was one of those colors. The most noticeable things in her room were a work out station off on the right behind the closet and a massive bed big enough for 12 people on the left wall. Vera didn't take up that much room but when she tossed and turned at night her tail did. Last door on the right was the bath room. As soon as you entered there was a toilet, sink and pantry on the right wall and then a Jacuzzi of a bath tub where Vera was now. The extra space was needed and the help relaxing didn't hurt either.

Alex was a little astonished by their reaction. Humans are allowing a changeling to live with them...something isn't right here. Alex thought. Alex bowed politely to the couple before proceeding to the house.

As he entered the front door, he found himself in a long hall way. A door directly to the right was a closed but the one about 3 feet in on the left went into a small kitchen that had the left wall lined with cabinets, a stove and fridge and some more cabinets against the far wall and a small table on the right with 3 chairs. As he continued down the hall there was only a small number of rooms. 2 more on the left and 2 more on the right. The energy signal of the changeling wasn't coming from the two doors on the left. He attempted to try the ones on the right. The first door opened into a bedroom took up half of the house extending behind the bathroom and closet. Must be the Changelings room Alex thought, closing the door and approaching the last door. The energy signal now felt stronger. He rapped lightly on the door with his knuckles.

"Vera, I would like a word with you in private. Away from the ears of your folks" Alex said, in a calm, collected voice.

"Vera, I would like a word with you in private. Away from the ears of your folks" The voice echoed in Vera's ears. Her eyes shot wide open to the brink of popping out of her head. However a slight smile struck across her face. It was nice to know that the young man who had swirled so much question in her head wasn't her first unintended human kill. However something scared Vera. She had let her guard down or this man had been very sneaky. Either way he got outside the bathroom door without her even noticing. Vera didn't know what to do. The bathroom was no place to talk and she didn't want a strange man in her room. Her parents would never let her hear the end of it. The biosphere was the best option. They wouldn't bother them in there and it was a sealed environment so no noise would escape.

Vera lifted herself from the tub and looked about and found a light blue towel. Brushing the hair out of her eyes so that it rested behind her ears she wrapped the towel around her body. It was beach towel size so it covered from just below her shoulders to her knees. Vera made a tight wrap with a slight roll knot and moved to the door. "The biosphere is where we can talk. its quite in there." Vera said softly. Vera stepped past the man to the door opposite.

Opening it up she made an immediate left and stepped to the left of the railing. The right went down stairs and the left to the dome. As she stepped along she did her best to stay on her toes. One to keep fully aware but also to not sounds like she weighed 2000 pounds on the hard wood floors. Reaching the large metal door Vera yanked it open to reveal a small clearing with nothing more than grass. and a pod in the middle. Vera moved to the pod and sat atop it with her knees closed and her arms hugged to her chest. "So what would you like to talk about?" She asked.

Vera came out of the restroom wearing a light blue towel, wrapped around her body, hanging to the floor like a dress. Confused, Alex turned his head until she spoke.

"The biosphere is where we can talk. its quite in there" Vera said softly.

Alex followed her to this "bio-dome". The whole time he was thinking about how wrong it was for her to be living with humans and not bent on world domination.

Stepping into the room, Alex was confused. He was sure they had been inside the house. Perhaps they had exited a backdoor...but Vera had called this room a bio-dome. Shrugging the thoughts off, Alex kept his eyes trained forward, unsure of how to react to the changeling wearing a towel. Frieza, Cooler, nor Kuriza wore any type of clothing, unless you counted Cooler's True Final Form's exo-skeleton as clothing.

"So what would you like to talk about?" Vera asked, standing atop a pod in the middle of the room, with her knees closed and arms hugged to her chest.

If it weren't for the hair and towel, Alex would have sworn he was looking at Frieza.

"Some place you got here," Alex began "You left with some unanswered questions in my head. Figured I'd either A) Find The Kliq and we'd beat them out of you or B) You and I could finish our conversation without The Kliq. I thought about my options and having my friends in the Kliq laugh at me because I was beaten by a Changeling Female, wasn't the best option."

Alex sat down on the ground, cross legged and looked to the Changeling.

"Now, if a fight breaks out, I'm at the disadvantage of having to stand up before having enough leverage to be any good. This is your home and I wouldn't want to disrespect you. Now, my first question isn't the simplest one, so I'll explain myself a little more this time before I start hounding you for answers" Alex said.

This would be the tricky part. Explaining to the Changeling who Frieza, Cooler, Kuriza, and Kold were and why they were now dead.

"I used to work for King Kold, the emperor of the Changelings. King Kold had two loves in life: The World Trade Organization and his two sons. He could really careless about the Changeling Race. He put them all to work for his World Trade Organization. The WTO would go around dominating and conquering planets, then selling them to other races. There were at least 79 planets named after his son Frieza, Prince of Changelings and 87 planets named after his son, Cooler, Lord of Changelings. His grandson Kuriza, Frieza's son, had only two planets in his name. The Changelings dominated my race, The Hellfighters, and the race of my friends Kenji and Aidan, known as the Saiyans. Kenji and I didn't know this at first. We came to earth on Frieza's orders to destroy it along with The Saiyan Prince Vegeta." Alex explained.

He stopped talking long enough to make sure that Vera was still following him.

"we met Kurokon Shikyo and Aidan Kenta. The two of them stopped us from destroying the earth and Kenji and I joined the fight to protect earth. We went to Planet Namek to seek out the Dragonballs because Earth's Dragonballs had been destroyed during the fight between Kuro and Vegeta. There we met The Kold family. Fights broke out and in the end, Kuro killed Kold, Aidan killed Kuriza, I killed Cooler, and Kenji eventually killed Frieza. We returned Earth to normal, and returned home. That's when I met you the other day and I freaked out thinking somehow Frieza had returned," Alex explained, "Are you absolutely sure you do not know any of this happened?"

As Vera had led Alex had followed her into the biosphere. Vera stared intently and listened motionlessly as he spoke.

"Some place you got here, You left with some unanswered questions in my head. Figured I'd either A) Find The Kliq and we'd beat them out of you or B) You and I could finish our conversation without The Kliq. I thought about my options and having my friends in the Kliq laugh at me because I was beaten by a Changeling Female, wasn't the best option."

Vera kept a close eye on him as he sat down. She had never really noticed it as a weakness before because for her she could balance herself with her tail as she stood up but the man spoke the truth without a third leg it was a disadvantage.

Vera was shocked to listen more in detail to this story. However it wasn't a story it was history. Either ways it was still a difficult one to swallow. Vera breathed in for a moment before speaking calmly but distant almost as if her mind had escaped her body and ran to a far away place just to recall this reality.

"20 years ago i was born among my race child to a military man and simple woman. The fact that i was a girl was such a shame that i was to be executed. Before that could happen my mother tossed me in this pod and sent me here. My pod crash sight was apparently nowhere near here it was while the old man was out on a trip that he found me. He recovered the pod and myself and brought me here and has raised me to be nothing more then a simple human girl. Even if the tail and lack of proper organs doesn't quite match. And since you've fought my race before i'm guessing you know I'm missing my horns and the hair and chest lumps are artificially produced as well. Other then the small history that was on a note with me that i just explained to you i've spent all my time on earth interacting with humans and everything i know came from that note and a book that talks about ki control and nothing more. So i'm sorry to say that those names honestly mean nothing to me however by the sounds of it, my family and i were lucky that you were there to stop them."

Vera's head hung low to think that she was nothing more than the another of an abomination race hell bent on galactic conquest was rather depressing. On top of that to think that she looked like one of the leaders? Did that make her related to one of them? It was to much. Tears began slowly rolling down her face but despite that she couldn't stop smiling.

"I've never been so happy in my entire life to be adopted."

Vera shifted her weight and slid of the edge of the small round pod and hit the ground with a hard thump. She was hugging her knees with her back against the pod and her tail wrapped around her.

"Sorry, i didn't mean to give you a scare. No worries i'm not Freiza or interested in world domination."

Alex was shocked by the tears. He had been throughout the galaxy, traversed with the Changelings, Saiyans, Konats, The Skrit Na, and an array of other races. He had fought giants, Immeckians, Namekkians, Saiyans, Majin, and a host of other beings without races. Never once had he witnessed another race cry, not counting the humans.

"If you aren't going to dominate the world, there is only one way you can prove this to me." Alex said, "This is teachings passed down from my on adoptive father"

Alex raised one closed fist.

"True martial artists tell the truth with their fists. Vera, today I take my leave. The next we meet, there will be a fight. And only then will I truely believe you aren't here using mind control to enslave these nice people you live with, and only then will I truly believe you aren't going to attempt to seek out revenge on The Kliq for killing your leaders." Alex said.

With that, he stood, and bowed, before turning to leave, walking away slowly so if Vera had anything else to say, she could say it before he left.

"If you aren't going to dominate the world, there is only one way you can prove this to me." Alex said, "This is teachings passed down from my on adoptive father. True martial artists tell the truth with their fists. Vera, today I take my leave. The next we meet, there will be a fight. And only then will I truely believe you aren't here using mind control to enslave these nice people you live with, and only then will I truly believe you aren't going to attempt to seek out revenge on The Kliq for killing your leaders."

Vera couldn't even bear to look up at the man. She understood why he couldn't trust her but it still hurt to know they would fight again. Vera didn't have anything more to say instead she simply returned to the bathroom. Dropping the towel to the floor she slid back into the large puddle of water which had now be come kinda cold however that didn't matter to Vera. She simply adjusted the faucets and drifted back into a haze. Dead to the world. Lost to herself. She wasn't excited about having to fight but she knew sooner rather than later would still be best.

Three days had passed since Alex surprised Vera at her house. He had all but forgotten their conversation and was now focusing on his training and building his house. Today, he had enlisted the help of his friend Aidan, as he ventured into town. Aidan being half human, knew how to handle the people in town. Alex would just love to blast them away without killing them, but Aidan would politely ask them to move. Must be something about humans.

"Alright Aidan, Where's this hardware store at?" Alex asked. "I'd like to get as much done on the interior of the house as possible today."

Aidan lead him down a long street, they had been walking for hours. Another thing Alex hated about the city, walking. If he could fly, the people wouldn't be as much of a bother to him. he just didn't understand it. They were allowed to fly their cars, but he couldn't fly himself.

"Aidan? Do you feel that?" Alex asked, picking up a familiar race's energy signal.

Vera walked into town in a slim blue sun dress with some light yellow flowers on the front and a one piece bathing suit with a similar design underneath. The suit had green instead of yellow flowers. The sun was high and the heat from it was strong but with the cool breeze blowing through one hardly noticed. Vera's tail had some straps on it that went over her shoulders like a back pack. And oddly enough that's what it looked like. A large tear drop backpack. a simple yet working disguise. Vera was running errands to town to collect a few things for her parents. As she walked the first place she needed to hit was the hardware store. She had broken one of the shelves the other day and needed to have it replaced. It struck her as odd to feel such a large ki presence coming from people in this small town however she didn't think twice about it possibly being Alex because both times she met him he was alone. Either way she wasn't the type to go charging after such things. Her errands were the priority at the moment.

As she found the hardware store she went straight in and moved to the lumber section and began browsing the different sections of wood. She could feel the powers getting close but paid it no mind she needed a shelf first.

Spotting the sign that read hardware, Alex forgot about the energy signature. He tapped Aidan's shoulders and pointed. He pushed opened the door and entered, to his surprise, he felt the energy signature stronger in here than outside.

"Aidan, wonder why the energy signature got so strong? There are only humans in here, right? besides the two of us," Alex said, looking around for Aidan.

Vera couldn't find a piece to match properly with what she was looking for. She was standing there unmoving. When the wood decided to attack her she leapt back. But then a voice asked

"What are you doing here?" It was that that point Vera realized that the man had thrown the wood at her.

Vera was slightly taken aback by the question she didn't know the man and if was just another human then he didn't know what she was. So the question seemed rather odd. "I'm just doing some errands sorry if i got in your way." Vera could tell he was the source of the high power level she just assumed a young martial artist or something of that nature. Either way she could tell he was stronger and that egging him on would only lead to her own defeat.

Alex moved with amazing speed. Aidan and Vera could both see him move, but to the humans in the store, it appeared as if Alex had disappeared from his position in front of the door, to where the piece of lumber lay. As soon as he stopped moving, he extended his arms outward towards Vera and Aidan.

"Whoa" Alex said in a lowered, yet soft voice, he held his head low so that his hair created a shadow of his eyes. "Aidan, ole pal, Sorry to ask this of you because I know it goes against the code of The Kliq, but back down" Now there was Vera. "Don't think I've forgotten about our deal, Vera. But this isn't the time or place. Today, Aidan and I will treat you to a lunch, so we can explain everything there is to explain to him"

With this, Alex lowered his hands and looked to Vera.

"He's the youngest member of the Kliq." Alex said, jabbing a thumb at Aidan. "But what he lacks in age and experience, he makes up for in raw ability. Had it been him to encounter you first, we wouldn't be standing here today."

"Whoa. Aidan, ole pal, Sorry to ask this of you because I know it goes against the code of The Kliq, but back down. Don't think I've forgotten about our deal, Vera. But this isn't the time or place. Today, Aidan and I will treat you to a lunch, so we can explain everything there is to explain to him. He's the youngest member of the Kliq. “Stop your making me blush! But it’s true. I’m Aidan Kenta, the true Demi-Saiyan. So what’s your name Changeling? I believe my friend said something about Vera? Oh yeah that reminds me, Alex your paying for lunch. I didn’t bring any money.

Vera shook her head. "Okay Alex slow down. The Kliq would be what? By the sounds of it i'm guessing this is the group that you used to destroy the Ice chest people. Also Demi-Saiyan? What are Saiyans? I'm Missing a few pieces here ya'll. I have money and last but not least. Hello and nice to meet you Aidan. Nice to see you again Alex. Sorta...."

Vera as she spoke had moved closer to the men so that she was in arms reach and they weren't shouting down the aisle at each other. As Alex had said this wasn't the place so she wasn't worried about being attacked. It was nice to know that the power sources she had felt earlier were coming from these two and not some random bullies even if so far they were rather odd to her. Vera's mind however was already onto food. Alex had mentioned lunch and now her stomach was trying to start a conversation with her about eating something. So very simply smiled lightly and asked one more question.

"Where are we going for lunch?"

Alex put his hand on back of his hand and smiled.

"I was thinking Arbys," He said, as the oven glove appeared his head momentarily. "It is GOOD MOOD FOOD afterall,"

Alex noticed how Vera looked a little shy.

"Come on, Vera. We'll explain everything and I'll pay. Of course, since I'm paying, everyone is getting what I pay for...." The scene fades to black and reopens at an Arby's Restaurant with Alex ordering, "WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE FIVE FOR FIVE DEAL HAS BEEN CHANGED TO FIVE FOR 6.65? WHAT KINDA BULLSHITERY IS THAT? I WAS ONLY ON NAMEK FOR A FUCKING MONTH!"

Alex slammed his fist onto the counter, denting it.

"One more time, sir. I would like to purchase 3 of your five for five deals. Three Junior Roast Beef Sandwichs, A curly fry, and drink for all three orders," Alex said, "EXTRA ARBY'S SAUCE!"

The man went to protest, when Alex glanced over at Aidan, who was still in shock at the news of Vera being a peaceful Changeling, and smiled. He looked back to the man and opened his palm, filling it with ki.

"I'd suggest making it right, sir," Alex said.

Twenty minutes pass before they get their food. The group chooses a booth far away from prying ears.

"Vera," Alex began after woofing down one of his sandwiches. "Aidan is one of my friends who helped me take down The Kold Family. He took down Kuriza, The Prince of Princes and Frieza's Son. Aidan comes from the race of Saiyans. Barbaric warriors that The Kold Family hired and then permanently fired by killing them. Aidan, Vera is originally from Coola No. 001, The Home of the Changelings. She somehow ended up on Earth, and lives with an elderly couple." Alex said, unwrapping his second sandwich. "I'm sure she can fill in the details next" With that Alex tore into his second sandwich devouring it in a matter of seconds.

Vera's attention was drawn as Alex began speaking and answered her last question first.

"I was thinking Arbys, It is GOOD MOOD FOOD after all. Come on, Vera. We'll explain everything and I'll pay. Of course, since I'm paying, everyone is getting what I pay for...."

Vera thought this was reasonable and nodded at the statement so wordlessly the trio headed out for Arby's.

Spotting the large white brick building with massive windows and red awnings over each. Vera smiled a little. The big hat with the word "Arby's" Over the red metal & mostly glass door greeted her. As they entered Vera looked around for a seat. She wasn't needed for the ordering process so she left that to Alex. After all he had stated earlier we would be getting whatever he ordered. Vera looked around noting the bland tan walls which mated the table tops that were lined with a black plastic. The booth seats were the same dull coloring and made of plastic as well with redwood red cushions. on the back of them. Vera sat in one in a far corner away from the door and the bathrooms next to a large window. As she sat down she herd a commotion coming from the counter. She snapped her head to quickly see what was happening.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE FIVE FOR FIVE DEAL HAS BEEN CHANGED TO FIVE FOR 6.65? WHAT KINDA BULLSHITERY IS THAT? I WAS ONLY ON NAMEK FOR A FUCKING MONTH!"

Vera watched as Alex slammed his fist onto the counter, leaving a large enough dent in it that even Vera could see it from where she was.

"One more time, sir. I would like to purchase 3 of your five for five deals. Three Junior Roast Beef Sandwichs, A curly fry, and drink for all three orders, EXTRA ARBY'S SAUCE!"

Vera watched as the man tried to explain something out of her hear shot but she quickly quieted down when Alex began charging a blast.

"I'd suggest making it right, sir,"

Vera stared out the window as she waited for food. She watched as dark clouds rolled in and began pouring down rain onto the restaurant. She loved the rain. Few people hung outside in the woods when it poured like this and because of the thunder Vera was allowed to test ki blasts on trees. Anyone who found the wreckage assumed lighting most of the time. Usually cause Vera would just pick 1 really large tree and go till it was destroyed.

Once the food arrived Alex and Vera began to eat right away. Aidan on the other hand decided to return to the counter and try and get into the girls pants. Vera watched and giggled lightly as he kissed her on the cheek. Human love was always something that made her giggle because it was something that humans tended to completely over complicate. Especially the females. It was part of why she thought she still hadn't found a "Man" was because of the fact that she couldn't figure out how to play the game like human woman do.

"Vera, Aidan is one of my friends who helped me take down The Kold Family. He took down Kuriza, The Prince of Princes and Frieza's Son. Aidan comes from the race of Saiyans. Barbaric warriors that The Kold Family hired and then permanently fired by killing them. Aidan, Vera is originally from Coola No. 001, The Home of the Changelings. She somehow ended up on Earth, and lives with an elderly couple. I'm sure she can fill in the details next"

Before Vera could speak Aidan responded.
